Driver Education Class

Driver Education is a required course in the State of California. The Department of Motor Vehicles requires teens under the age of 17 1/2 to take a 30 hour (classroom hours: 50 min./hr.) course to prepare them to become qualified, responsible drivers.

The price of the course is $80 and is offered either 4 days in a row (usually in the summer or vacations) or on 2 weekends (usually during the school year). If you enroll in driver education and driver training at the same time (simultaneously) then the price would be $310. Proof of enrollment in an approved driver training course will be required by Department of Motor Vehicles in order to be eligible to apply for a learner's permit. The form will be supplied by the driving school.
